What does “pit tanned” mean?
Hides soak in vegetable bark liquor in pits for 40 days instead of being tanned quickly with chromium salts. It is the founder’s method from 1962, revived for the Pit Tanned line in 2019.
Why does my piece look different from the photos?
Vegetable-tanned leather varies from hide to hide and darkens with light and handling. [CONFIRM wording]
